About Root & Branch

Our Founders

Root & Branch was born from a providential meeting between Iranian American Marziyeh Amirizadeh and Israeli American Jonathan Feldstein in March 2023. Root & Branch emerged as a powerful symbol of unity and support for Israel.

Marziyeh Amirizadeh

Marziyeh (Marzi) Amirizadeh is an Iranian American who immigrated to the US after being sentenced to death by hanging in Iran for the 'crime' of converting to Christianity.

Marzi is a published author, public speaker, and columnist. Her first book, 'Captive in Iran,' recounts her capture and imprisonment. Her second book, 'A Love Journey with God,' shares how Marzi found God, the struggles she experienced as a Christian woman in an Islamic Country, and how God can turn any situation into triumph. Marzi also is the founder and president of NEW PERSIA an organization whose mission is to be the voice of persecuted Christians and oppressed women under Islam, to Preserve democracy that is being threaten in the West by extremist Islam, expose the lies of the Iranian Islamic regime, and restore the relationships between Persians, Jews, and Christians. Jonathan Feldstein

Jonathan Feldstein is president of the Genesis 123 Foundation whose mission is to build bridges between Jews and Christians and Christians with Israel. He was born and educated in the U.S. and immigrated to Israel in 2004. He is married and the father of six, and grandfather of four (so far). (www.genesis123.co)

Since the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre in Israel, he has written hundreds of articles, appeared in numerous media interviews, hosted dozens of briefings, and used his voice to further the mission of building bridges between Jews and Christians through multiple global prayer events. Jonathan is also host of the 'Inspiration from Zion' podcast.

In 2023 he published the highly acclaimed book, 'Israel the Miracle', including essays by 75 Christian leaders from all over the world writing about why Israel is significant to them. (www.israelthemiracle.com)

Historical Achievement and Impact

Building Bridges Through Faith and Action

In November 2024, the inaugural Root & Branch group of Christian volunteers from across United States successfully harvested over 1,000 kilos of olives, demonstrating tangible support for communities affected by conflict. We harvested hundreds of year old trees in the Tel Ashkelon National Park, alongside archeological ruins thousands of years old. In addition we harvested in Sderot, the Israeli city closest to the Gaza border, and agricultural communities that were devastated by the October 2023 massacre.

  • Divine Affirmation

    The project's first harvest day was marked by two rainbows - symbolizing God's continued covenant, and His blessing on this mission. It was also the day, exactly 15 years after Marzi’s release from imprisonment in Iran.

  • Military Support

    Our volunteers shared meals and prayers and words of encouragement and gratitude with elite IDF units serving in Gaza, creating powerful moments of spiritual and emotional connection during challenging times.

  • Community Care

    We've connected with families of hostages, offering prayers and support from a unique perspective of understanding through Marzi’s personal experience of imprisonment.

  • Economic Support

    Working with local olive presses, including an Arab Christian-owned business in Latrun, we've created sustainable economic partnerships that cross cultural boundaries.

  • Spiritual Legacy

    Through harvesting ancient olive trees near a 3,500-year-old Canaanite gate, we connect biblical history with present-day support for the people Israel.

  • Looking Forward

    With hundreds of inquiries for future participation, Root & Branch continues to grow as a symbol of Christian-Jewish cooperation and support for Israel.
